MURRAY, Ky. – 
Rachel Papavasilopoulos picked up a win at No. 1 singles for Eastern Illinois women's tennis as the Panthers played an Ohio Valley Conference match on Sunday afternoon at Murray State.
 
After weather pushed the match from its originally scheduled Friday date, Murray State was able to secure a 6-1 win over the Panthers to move to 9-8 overall, 2-2 in the OVC.  EIU fell to 2-16 overall, 0-4 in the OVC.
 
Papavasilopoulos posted a two set win at No. 1 singles over Stasya Sharapova winning 6-4, 6-2.
 
Playing at No. 2 singles 
Elizaveta Bukraba-Ulanova nearly picked up her third win of the conference season losing in three sets to Sarah Bureau 6-7, 6-4, 10-6.
 
The Racers won the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles with the No. 3 doubles match was left unfinished.  
Lauren Ellis and 
Brittany Steven were playing at No. 3 doubles for EIU.
 
Papavasilopoulos would square the match at 1-1 with her win in singles play before Murray State won the next five points in singles action.
 
Murray State clinched the match with a win at No. 5 singles.
 
EIU returns to action next weekend hosting Tennessee State and Belmont on Friday and Saturday at the Darling Courts.Â
