BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois sophomore catcher
Lindy Milkowski was named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week following her performance in the Panthers doubleheader sweep on Sunday over Tennessee Tech.

Milkowski was 5-for-8 at the plate in the two wins for a .625 batting average as EIU hit .435 in the two games.  Milkowski drove in eight runs with three doubles and a home run. Her home run was in the bottom of the seventh inning during the Panthers 16-15 come-from-behind win as the grand slam brought EIU to within one run.Â
Riley Dittmar would tie the game as the next batter with a solo home run. It was Milkowski's third grand slam this season.

She now leads the Panthers with 46 RBI this season which ranks second in the OVC while she is tied for fifth in the league in home runs (9) and doubles (9).

EIU opens play in the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament this Wednesday facing Tennessee Tech at 10 a.m.  The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with live stats also available.

Milkowski is the third Panther to win an OVC weekly award this season joining
Hannah Cravens (Player of the Week – March 14) and
Alexa Rehmeier (Pitcher of the Week – March 21).
