13 Softball Players Earn Easton/NFCA Academic Honors

Panthers post a team GPA of 3.52 for the academic year

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Eastern Illinois softball had 13 student-athletes post a 3.5 or higher GPA during the most recent academic year as those players were recognized as Easton All-America Scholar-Athletes by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Monday (August 1).
 
As a team EIU posted a 3.52 team GPA for the year as the Panthers were one of 66 NCAA Division I schools nationwide with a 3.5 or higher team GPA for the year.  Harvard was the national leader with a team GPA of 3.76. 
 
Four total Ohio Valley Conference schools posted a 3.5 or higher GPA with incoming member Southern Indiana ranked among the top ten schools in team GPA in the NCAA Division II ranks.  EIU was joined on the 3.5 or higher team list by Southeast Missouri, UT Martin and SIUE.
 
EIU's 13 players that posted a 3.5 or higher GPA to earn NFCA/Easton All-America Scholar-Athlete honors were Megan Burton, Sydney Cammon, Hannah Cravens, Riley Dittmar, Kendall Fields, Rachel Kaufman, Lindy Milkowski, Tieghan Morio, Alexa Rehmeier, Kaitlyn Reifsteck, Andrea Sampson, Abi Stahlhut and Maddie Swart.
