BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Lauren Ellis picked up the first singles win of the season for Eastern Illinois women's tennis as the Panthers played their second match of the spring season on Sunday afternoon at Illinois State.

Ellis won her match at No. 6 singles in two sets 7-6, 6-3 over Iva Poleksic during a 6-1 team win by Illinois State.

Ellis also played at No. 3 doubles with Jemma Booth with the Panthers duo pushing the match against Elena Jankulovska and Othilia Brodin before losing 7-5. 

Illinois State clinched the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

They would win the overall match with Alexandra Abyasova's win at No. 2 singles over Elizaveta Bukraba-Ulanova.
