GAME 1
Eastern Illinois women's basketball opens the 2023-24 season with a pair of games on the road as EIU plays on Monday night at IUPUI before a Thursday evening game at nationally ranked Indiana.  EIU is coming off a 21-8 season which included a school record for consecutive wins in Ohio Valley Conference play as the team opened the year at 13-0. EIU would finish second in the OVC regular season standings and was knocked out of the OVC Tournament in the semifinals.   IUPUI was 17-13 last season including a 13-7 record in Horizon League action.

MCGLONE NAMED PRESEASON ALL-OVC
Forward Macy McGlone made an immediate impact last season for the Panthers after transferring from Milwaukee.  She was named a first team All-OVC selection while also landing on the OVC All-Newcomer team.  McGlone averaged 12.5 points per game and ranked second in the league in rebounds at 7.3 per contest.  Her 41 blocked shots were the best total in the OVC.   She connected for 54.4 percent from the field which was the 10th best single season average in school history.   This season McGlone was named to the preseason All-OVC team.

MONAHAN NAMED PRESEASON ALL-OVC
Guard Miah Monahan helped lead the Panthers offense last season during its 21 win season finishing third in the Ohio Valley Conference in total assists (140) and assists per game (4.8).  Monahan also provided consistent offense averaging 9.2 points per game.   The junior guard scored in double figures 13 times during the season with a season-high of 20 points against Southern Indiana.  Monahan was named to the preseason All-OVC team this year.
