Elizaveta Bukraba-Ulanova and
Jemma Booth both picked up wins in singles play on Saturday afternoon for the Eastern Illinois women's tennis team during a 5-2 loss on the road at Missouri State.

MSU clinched the doubles point winning at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. EIU's No. 1 doubles team of Bukraba-Ulanova and
Christine Gouws were leading 5-3 when the Bears clinched the point to leave their match unfinished.

Bukraba-Ulanova won for the second time in as many days needing three sets to outlast Tiera Jarmond at No. 2 singles. Jarmond won the opening set 7-6 (7-5) before Bukraba-Ulanova rallied to win the final two sets 6-4, 7-5 and claim the point.

Booth won her second straight match as the freshman picked up a two-set win over Mary Houston at No. 3 singles. Booth won 6-4, 6-3.Â

Missouri State extended its lead to 3-0 in the match with wins at No. 4 and No. 1 singles after posting the win in doubles. Booth would get EIU's first point of the day followed by Bukraba-Ulanova. Missouri State clinched with a win at No. 5 singles.

EIU returns to action next Saturday hosting Olivet Nazarene and St. Francis (Ill.) at the Danville Tennis Center.

EIU is now 1-3 on the season. MSU improved to 2-1.
