DANVILLE, Ill. – Eastern Illinois women's tennis opened Ohio Valley Conference play with a dominant 7-0 win over Southern Indiana at the Danville Tennis Center.

EIU improved to 9-8 overall, 1-0 in the OVC.  USI fell to 3-9 overall, 0-1 in the OVC.

EIU opened winning the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.  Addison Brown and Christine Gouws won 6-2 at No. 1 doubles followed by a 6-3 win by Madeline Monroy and Brittany Steven at No. 2 doubles.

The Panthers then won all six singles matches in two sets.  Gouws opened the singles wins at No. 1 with a 6-1, 6-0 win. 

The Panthers then added wins at No. 2 singles (Elizaveta Bukraba-Ulanova), No. 3 singles (Jemma Booth), No. 4 singles (Brittany Steven), No. 5 singles (Madeline Monroy) and No. 6 singles (Lauren Ellis).
