Thomas Wallace improved to 3-1 in singles play for Eastern Illinois men's tennis as he won at No. 5 singles for the Panthers during their Saturday 6-1 Horizon League loss at Belmont.
Wallace won 6-2, 6-4 as he has now won four of his last five matches in singles play.
Belmont won the opening point playing in windy conditions with a delayed outdoor start on Saturday.  The Bruins won the doubles point as EIU was competitive at No. 1 and 3 doubles.
Belmont would clinch the match with wins at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 1 singles. The Bruins led 5-0 in the match before Wallace posted his two-set win over Gabriel Sardo.
EIU wraps up its Nashville trip on Sunday with a morning match at Tennessee State.
The Panthers dropped to 5-9 overall, 1-3 in the Horizon League.
