ON-TAP: Eastern Illinois Track & Field prepares to participate in two meets this weekend as the Panthers will send athletes to both Terre Haute, Ind. and Azusa, Calif. for the Gibson Invite and Bryan Clay Invitational.

LAST MEET: EIU competed in the Illinois Fighting Illini Challenge in Champaign, Ill. 

Akiya Kollore took second place in the women's 100 meter hurdles, lowering her own school record with a time of 13.43.

Cameron Yarbrough took second place in the men's 100 meter dash with a time of 10.47, which set a new personal best and ranks him 10th in EIU school history.

Danielle Scaduto delivered a first place finish in the women's javelin throw, posting a mark of 137'6" (41.91m).  Caroline Lendy finished right behind her with a mark of 134'1" (40.88m).

Porter Conroy finished in second place in the men's high jump with a mark of 6'6.75" (2.00m).

Ramsey Hunt finished third in the men's long jump with a mark of 23'0.50" (7.02m).

OVC LEADERS: With last week's results, three Panthers currently lead their respective individual event in the Ohio Valley Conference heading into this week's meets.  The Panthers also currently hold the top conference spot in the women's 4x400 meter relay.  The following are the top marks in the OVC:

Josiah Neal: 400 meters, 47.82
Akiya Kollore: 100 meter hurdles, 13.43
Ramsey Hunt: Long Jump, 25'8.75" (7.84m)
Zakiya Johnson, Taylor Wright, Hallee Thomas, Akiya Kollore: 4x400 meter relay, 3:51.01

The Panthers hold all three of the top spots in the women's 100 meter hurdles, as Thomas (14.45) and Shanisa Stinson (14.46) rank second and third, respectively.

Kollore's time ranks 16th in the NCAA West Region and Hunt's mark ranks sixth in the NCAA West Region and 12th in the country.

NEXT WEEK: The Panthers will head to Bloomington, Ind. to partake in the Indiana University Invitational which will be held April 21-22.

HEAD COACH: Keith Roberts was hired as Director of Track & Field at Eastern Illinois in August of 2021. Roberts enters his second year at Eastern after becoming the fourth director of track & field in the school's Division I history. Last season, Roberts produced two OVC Athletes of the Year in Dustin Hatfield and Lindsey Carlson in 2021. He coached both the men's and women's team to USTFCCCA Team All-Academic Honors. The EIU program produced six NCAA West Regional qualifiers in 2021-22 in Riley Baker (400 hurdles) and Akiya Kollore (100 hurdles / 200 dash).
