ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Rain delayed the start of Eastern Illinois men's tennis Horizon League match at Lindenwood on Saturday afternoon and to avoid rain forecasted for later in the day, the two teams only competed in singles action with the Lions beating EIU 5-1 to avenge an earlier loss to the Panthers.

Thomas Wallace secured the lone singles win for EIU playing at No.5 singles with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Mattis Lamm. The win was a team best ninth singles win this season for Wallace as the senior is now 4-4 in Horzon League play.

Pau Riera pushed his match to three sets at No. 2 singles before falling to Anton de la Puente.  de la Puente won 5-7, 6-3, 6-1.Â

Playing at No. 6 singles
Antonio Ayerbe Streubel battled in his opening set before falling 7-5. He would lose the second set 6-1 dropping his match to Payle Drobnjakovic.
