COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern Illinois men's tennis nearly won the doubles point on Saturday afternoon at Tennessee Tech but after the Panthers were edged out for the doubles point, TTU went on to pick up a 7-0 Horizon League win.

EIU won at No. 3 doubles with
Pau Riera and
Antonio Ayerbe Streubel winning 6-4 over Jaime Paquet and Pablo Ramos Martin.  TTU won 6-2 at No. 2 doubles and clinched the point with a 7-5 win at No. 1 doubles as Mika Berghaus and Elias Grubert beat
Cameron Slabbert and
Thomas Wallace.

TTU was able to win all six singles points in two sets. Wallace would lose his opening set 7-6 before falling 6-1 in the second set at No. 5 singles.

Riera lost 6-1 in his opening set at No. 2 singles and battled in the second before falling 6-4.

EIU falls to 5-14 on the season, 1-8 in Horizon League play.  The Panthers wrap up the season on Sunday with a match at Southern Indiana.Â
