Panthers will run in two meets next weekend

BLOOMINGTON, IND -- Eastern Illinois Track & Field took part in the Indiana University Invitational in Bloomington, Ind. this weekend.

To begin things on Friday, Clayre Shaver and Jenna Grzeskowiak both participated in the women's hammer throw, posting marks of 156'8" (47.77m) and 151'10" (46.28m), respectively for ninth and 10th place finishes.  On the men's side, Bradley Olysav finished sixth with a mark of 182'1" (55.50m) while Matthew Gladieux finished 10th with a new personal best mark of 169'4" (51.61m).

In the men's long jump, Ramsey Hunt finished in second with a mark of 23'1.75" (7.04m).  Gregory Downs came in sixth with a mark of 21'7.25" (6.58m).

In the women's 400m hurdles, Mckenna Wojcicki finished in eighth place with a time of 1:04.78.  On the men's side, Downs came in eighth with a time of 55.08 and Elijah Robertson finished ninth with a new personal best time of 56.02.

In the men's shot put, Olysav finished fifth with a mark of 53'0.25" (16.16m) and Gladieux finished ninth with a mark of 50'5.5" (15.38m).

Saturday began with the Discus throw where Shaver posted a 10th place finish with a mark of 139'7" (42.55m). 

The meet was highlighted for EIU by Caroline Lendy, who finished in third place in the women's javelin throw with a mark of 131'3" (40.02m).  The mark tied her personal best that she set in 2021, which ranks 10th in EIU school history.

The Panthers now shift their attention to their two meets next weekend.  They will participate in the Drake Relays held at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and the Clark Wood Invitational held at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Ky.  The Panthers will return to Bloomington in two weeks for the Billy Hayes Invite.
