BRENTWOOD, Tenn. –
Olivia Price continued her strong late season pitching performance as the Eastern Illinois junior was named the Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second consecutive week. Price had wins in three of the Panthers five games last week as they have now extended their current win streak to nine games.
Price allowed just one unearned run for the week in the midweek win at Purdue Fort Wayne in the first of three complete games for the week. She then tossed a pair of complete game shutouts as EIU swept its weekend series against Morehead State. Price allowed a total of 15 hits in 19 innings of work with 13 strike outs and just one walk issued. She has now pitched 21.1 consecutive OVC innings without allowing a run.
Price currently leads the OVC in ERA at 1.58 and ranks second in the league in wins with 13. She is the Panthers team leader in both innings pitched and strike outs.
EIU returns to action this week hosting IUPUI on Tuesday for a doubleheader before a weekend road series at Lindenwood.
