Charleston, Ill. – Eastern Illinois women's soccer played its final exhibition on Sunday afternoon. EIU's 1-0 loss against UIC marked the third of a series of three preseason matches.
Although Panthers played a solid game defensively, the Flames were able to find a breakthrough in the 85th minute of the match when Hannah Gryzik found the back of the net to give UIC the lead.
Ella Kratochvil started in goal for the Panthers and logged three saves during the first half. In the second half,
Ashlyn Hoover made her appearance with two saves. EIU's only shot on target came in the second half with
Serra Pizano.
EIU will now prepare for its season opener on Aug. 17th., when the Panthers travel to face Valparaiso. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm.
