CHARLESTON, Ill. - The Eastern Illinois men's soccer team (1-9-1, OVC 0-5) dropped their matchup 3-0 to Houston Christian (6-5-2, OVC 4-1) at Lakeside Field on Sunday afternoon. This contest stood as the second game of a double header, following the EIU women's soccer game that was played at 12pm.
HCU came out of the gates hot, as Morgan Worsfold-Gregg scored the match's opening goal at the two-minute mark in the first half. Houston Christian would then find the back of the net once again in the 29' minute, extending the HCU lead to 2-0 heading into the break.
Chad Smith received the start in goal for the Panthers, marking his eighth start of the 2024 season. Smith finished the afternoon with one save. The Huskies scored their third and final goal in the 80' minute, extending their lead to 3-0 before closing out the match.

Jackson Liley lead the offensive efforts for Eastern Illinois, as they both finished the contest with two shots on goal. The Panthers continue OVC play on Thursday, Oct. 15, as they travel east to take on conference opponent Liberty.
