McGlone Earns Mid-Major Madness National Honor

Mid-Major Madness named Eastern Illinois forward Macy McGlone as its Women's Player of the Week for Dec. 16-22. The senior notched a pair of double-doubles to set the program career record.

The 6-foot-3 post averaged 18 points on 50% shooting and 17 rebounds to lead the Panthers to a 2-0 start in OVC play. She tallied 17 points, a season-high 18 rebounds, three blocks and two steals in a 71-55 win at Southeast Missouri. The veteran amassed 19 points and 16 boards in a 59-56 win at Little Rock.

The Greenville, Wis., native has five double-doubles this season. Her 35 career double-doubles moves her past Toni Collins and Sabina Oroszova for sole possession of first place on the EIU ledger.

The reigning Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year is averaging 17.8 points and 9.9 rebounds a contest this season. The Panthers are 5-6 this season and 2-0 in the conference.

Honorable Mention
Prencis Harden, Kennesaw State
Harden averaged 24 points and 10.5 rebounds per game to lead the Owls to a 2-0 week. The senior posted 22 points and 13 rebounds against Seattle. The Georgia native dropped 26 points and added eight boards against Georgia State as KSU rallied from a 12-point fourth-quarter deficit.

Ashley Hawkins, Gardner-Webb
Hawkins scored 47 points in a triple-overtime loss against Queens for a new Big Sky single-game scoring record. The guard added six rebounds, six steals and five assists. She scored 35 points in regulation and 12 more during the three overtime periods. Earlier in the week, the senior notched 17 points, six rebounds and three assists in a loss at Hampton.

Amiya Joyner, East Carolina
Joyner posted 30 points and 16 rebounds in a win over UNCW. That's her second 30-point, 15-rebound game this season.

Aaliyah McQueen, Detroit Mercy
McQueen averaged a double-double with 27 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks per game to lead the Titans to a pair of wins. The guard shot 19-for-30 (63.3%) from the field, 6-for-11 (54.5%) from 3-point range, and 10-for-11 (90.9%) from the free throw line. She had 24 points, nine boards and three blocks at Youngstown State. She then amassed a Titan career-high 30 points on 11-for-15 shooting (4-for-5 from 3-point range) with 11 rebounds in a double-overtime win at Valparaiso.

Megan Norris, UC Davis
Norris tallied 19 points and 15 rebounds in the Aggies' 14-point comeback win at Idaho on Wednesday. She had eight points and six board came in the fourth quarter. The redshirt junior went 4-of-8 from deep, and her 15 rebounds tied a career high.

Tierra Simon, Saint Louis
Simon registered consecutive double-doubles. The Texas native averaged 14.0 points and 15.5 rebounds per game last week. The senior matched a career-high with 16 points and set a new career-high with 17 rebounds in a win over Bellarmine. Earlier in the week, she posted 12 points and 14 boards in a victory over Valparaiso.
