The Eastern Illinois baseball team has added six new players to its 2025 recruiting class following the NCAA's early signing period. Â Joining the Panthers next season will be Blaine Nunnally, Drew Church, Gavin Rosengren, Jarrett Kidner, Braxdon Decker, and Kyle Boots. The talented group includes five high school signees and one addition from the JUCO ranks.
Blaine Nunnally is a right-handed pitcher from New Palestine, Indiana and joins the Panthers by way of Southwest Tennessee Community College. Last season, Nunally made 13 starts, recording 55 strikeouts through 60.2 innings pitched.
Drew Church is a shortstop from Westchester, Illinois. He the starting shortstop at Montini Catholic High School and plays for the Longshots Baseball travel team. In the fall of 2023, Church played for the Chicago Scouts Association.
Gavin Rosengren is a right-handed pitcher from Batavia, Illinois. He is a team captain and three-year varsity starter at Batavia High School. Rosengren compiled 61.1 innings pitched, 80 strikeouts, and a 3.01 ERA over his sophomore and junior seasons.
Jarrett Kinder is a right-handed pitcher from Princeton, Indiana. He plays at Princeton High School and for the Evansville Leathernecks travel squad. His combined spring and summer stats from last season included 68.0 innings pitched, 96 strikeouts, 13 walks, and a 1.45 ERA.
Braxdon Decker is also a right-handed pitcher and hails from Pocahontas, Illinois. He helped Highland High School to state in 2024 as he allowed just five earned runs through 32 innings pitched with 65 strikeouts and a .157 batting average against.
Kyle Boots, another right-handed pitcher, rounds out the group. A native of Greenwood, Indiana, Boots plays for Center Grove High School and the BAM Signature travel team. In 2024, he posted 43 innings pitched with just eight and recorded 54 strikeouts with just 12 walks. His career ERA for BAM Signature is 1.82. Boots was the 2022 Baseball Academics Midwest CY Young Award winner and 2023 PG North Fall World Series MVP.Â
