Eastern Illinois women's tennis faced Bradley on Friday with the Panthers playing with a shorthanded roster due to some player illness and injury.
Bradley picked up a 7-0 overall win, but won the five contested matches with the final two singles wins coming by default.
Michelle Kostadinova moved up to play at No. 1 singles falling in three sets to Mariia Bezmenova.Ā Bezmenova won 6-1, 3-6, 10-4.Ā It was the biggest jump of the season for the freshman who had previously played at No. 4 and No. 5 in the EIU order this spring.
Playing at No. 3 singles
Luisa Renovales Salazar battled in her opening set against Kirstin Hailey before falling in two sets.Ā Hailey won the tightly contested match 7-5, 6-4.
In doubles play Bradley won the point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.Ā The third doubles match was not contested.
