Women's Tennis Falls To Kansas City

Panthers lose neutral site match to wrap-up weekend

Eastern Illinois women's tennis played with an adjusted line-up and short on available players for the second straight match as they lost 7-0 to Kansas City with losses in the five points contested on the court.

EIU was short available players for the weekend based on a combination of player illness and injury.

Michelle Kostadinova moved up to play at No. 1 singles for the second straight match.  Prior to the weekend the freshman had never played higher than No. 4 in the Panthers playing order.

Kostadinova lost 6-3, 6-1 to Catherine Chrobak at No. 1 singles.

Charleigh Fay battled in her opening set at No. 2 singles losing 7-5.  She dropped the second set 6-2 losing the match to Laura Munoz-Baroja.

Luisa Renovales Salazar and Emma Pilipovic-Kljajic rounded out the singles players competing at No. 3 and No. 4 singles for the Panthers.

Kansas City won the doubles winning at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles with the No. 3 match not contested.  Singles at No. 5 and No. 6 were not contested either.
