Eastern Illinois women's wrapped up its weekend with a tough 5-2 loss at Lindenwood on Saturday in Ohio Valley Conference action.
The Panthers jumped out in front early in doubles play with
Addison Brown and
Jemma Booth winning 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. EIU was unable to secure the overall doubles point as the Lions won at both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
EIU quickly evened the match winning at No. 3 singles as
Jemma Booth beat Sarah Ben Aba. Booth won 6-3, 6-3.
Aleyla Wooten then pushed the Panthers lead to 2-1 in the match with a win at No. 2 singles. Wooten won 6-3, 6-1 over Paola Gracia.
Lindenwood evened the overall match at 2-2 winning at No.1 singles before claiming all three points in the bottom three positions in the playing order.
Luisa Renovales Salazar pushed her match at No. 5 singles to three sets before losing 6-1, 3-6, 4.6 to Juliana Kulczynski.
Charleigh Fay played the final match of the day losing in three sets at No. 4 singles to Yana Gaskell. Gaskell beat Fay 6-3, 5-7, 6-4.
