Eastern Illinois picked up wins at No. 3 and No. 5 singles while battling to three sets at No. 6 singles during a 5-2 loss at Chicago State on Friday.
Zach White picked up the first win of the match for EIU winning at No. 5 singles. White won 6-3, 6-3 over Percy Siercke.
Cameron Slabbert won a three-set match at No. 3 singles for the other Panthers point. Slabbert won 6-3, 3-6, 13-11 over Max Sandoval.
Playing at No. 6 singles for EIU,
Jon William Karlstad lost in a third set tiebreak to Andrei-Rares Negrut. Negrut won 5-7, 6-4, 10-7.
The Cougars picked up wins in all three doubles matches clinching the match with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. CSU would win the No. 3 doubles match in a tie-break 6-5 (7-4). White and
Pau Riera teamed up at No. 3 doubles for EIU.
