For the third time this season Eastern Illinois men's tennis faced a nationally ranked team as the Panthers picked up a late addition to the schedule facing No. 7 Arizona on Saturday in a neutral site match at Illinois.
The nationally ranked Wildcats beat EIU 7-0.
Arizona won all three doubles matches with the Panthers facing the nation's No. 15 ranked doubles tandem at No. 2 doubles.Â
Tyler Carlin and
Thomas Wallace played at No. 2 doubles for EIU falling 6-3 to Arizona's Jay Friend and Colton Smith.
In singles play, three nationally ranked Arizona players did not compete allowing the Wildcats to shift players up in their order.
Wallace played at No. 5 singles for EIU losing 6-2, 6-2 to Sasha Rozin.
Cameron Slabbert played at No. 3 singles losing to Casper Christensen 6-0, 6-3.
