Eastern Illinois women's tennis played the first of three weekend matches on Friday evening falling to St. Thomas (Minn.), 4-0, in a match played to clinch.
 
St. Thomas won the doubles point clinching the match with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.  The match at No. 1 doubles was tied 5-5 and left unfinished as the Tommies won the doubles point.
 
Jemma Booth and Addison Brown played at No. 1 doubles for the EIU women.
 
Brown then played at No. 1 singles for the Panthers with her match against Marthe Degeorges left unfinished in the second set as UST won the overall match.
 
The Tommies picked up wins at No. 2, 3 and 4 singles.
 
EIU's players at No. 5 singles (Luisa Renovales Salazar) and No. 6 singles (Emma Pilipovic-Kljajic) were not started.
