Eastern Illinois men's basketball coach
Marty Simmons has announced the addition of freshman forward Terry McMorris (6'7" / 185) to the Panthers roster for next season.
McMorris played last season at Link Year Prep in Branson, Missouri, where he helped lead the team to a Top 10 ranking and appearance in the final four of the Basketball Nationals.
McMorris is from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma where he led OKC Douglass High School to the Class 4A State Championship as a senior with a 26-1 record. He averaged 24 points and 15 rebounds per game during the season with 15.3 points and 11 rebounds per game during the state tournament. McMorris was named a first-team All-State selection as well as an Oklahoma All-Star and Oklahoma Super Five first team selection.
"Terry is a long, athletic forward who has all the tools to be successful at the collegiate level," said Simmons. "We think he has the ability to provide us a lift on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. He comes from a pair championship caliber programs and we are excited for him to be part of our EIU program."
McMorris joins Zion Fruster (6'2, Guard, Univ. of Virginia Wise) as newcomers to the Panthers roster.
