Eastern Illinois baseball had some excitement on the national level at not one, but two former Panthers made their Major League debuts in first couple months of the 2024 MLB season.
 
Will Klein and Hayden Birdsong both made their Major League debuts becoming the 11th and 12th  Panthers to play in the Major Leagues.
 
Klein made his debut out of the bullpen for the Kansas City Royals on April 28 against the Detroit Tigers.
 
Birdsong made his MLB debut as a starter for the San Francisco Giants on June 26 against the Chicago Cubs.
 
Both players are part of the Panthers recent string of MLB Draft success which was carried on last July when Ryan Ignoffo was drafted in the 20th round by the Miami Marlins.
