EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Eastern Illinois men's soccer team (1-5-1, OVC 0-1) fell short 2-1 at Strassweg Field against Southern Indiana on Sunday evening. The Panthers move to 0-1 in the Ohio Valley Conference as they are set to take on SIUE on October 3.
Southern Indiana began the first half strong, connecting at the 10' minute mark to push the Screaming Eagles out front 1-0. The Panthers responded, playing a strong remaining first half as EIU went into the break down one goal.
The second half continued to be a battle while both teams fought back and forth to keep the ball out of their own end. Eastern Illinois responded, as

USI found success late, scoring the go ahead goal in the 76' minute. This pushed the Screaming Eagles out front 2-1 as they fended off the EIU offense for the remainder of the half.
Southern Indiana out shot EIU 18-10 as the Panthers were able to record five shots on goal throughout the match.
