Eastern Illinois junior Kendall Grover has been named one of the nation's top players at third base released by D1Softball as part of its preseason position rankings.
 
Grover, last year's OVC Player of the Year, was rated as the No. 13 player at third base which includes Jaysoni Beachum (Florida State), Mia Scott (Texas) and Tallen Edwards (Oklahoma State) in the top three spots.
 
Last season Grover ranked among the OVC leader in most offensive categories hitting .354 with 18 doubles, ten home runs, 46 RBI, 20 stolen bases and 47 runs scored.  She was the OVC leader in home runs while ranking second in the league in RBI, doubles, hits and runs scored.  Grover earned NFCA Third Team All-Region honors landing in five EIU single season top ten record lists.  She was second on the team with 21-multiple hit games and ended the year with a 12-game active streak of reaching base in consecutive games. 
 
EIU opens the 2025 softball season on February 7 at the Incarnate Word Tournament in San Antonio, Texas.
