BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - The Eastern Illinois Track and Field team had two athletes who received weekly OVC awards after their performance this past weekend.
Ramsey Hunt earned Co-OVC Male Athlete of the Week and Abe Johnson earned OVC Male Freshman of the Week after their performance at the Fighting Illini Challenge in Champaign, Ill.
Hunt dominated the long jump on Friday, taking first place after recording a distance of 7.51m. This podium finish comes off the back of another first-place victory the weekend prior at the John Craft Invite, where he recorded a season-best 7.60m.
Johnson earned his first OVC Male Freshman of the Week award of the season after a strong performance in the triple jump on Saturday. Johnson's attempt of 14.71m earned him a third-place finish at the Fighting Illini challenge as well.
EIU returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 8 as they travel to Chicago, Ill. to compete in the DePaul Blue Demon Alumni Classic.
