Mya Mirocha turned in the best individual finish for an Eastern Illinois women's golfer since the spring of 2018 as she placed third at the Chicago State Windy City Classic.

Mirocha posted an even-par opening round of 72 on Monday which is tied for fifth for the best round in school history.  That total placed her second in the field after the opening 18 holes.

On Tuesday she carded a round of 78 to finish with a 36-hole score of 150 and placed third in the tournament contested at Harborside International.   She was one stroke behind the eventual winner as UIC teammates Camille Rosier and Alejandra Ereno both shot rounds of 149 for the team champion Flames.

Mirocha's 36-hole total of 150 is tied for the seventh best 36-hole score in school history.   It was her third top ten finish in her last five tournaments dating back to last spring.   The last EIU golfer to post a top three finish was Daphne Chang who tied for second at the Indiana State Spring Invitational in 2018.
