Eastern Illinois football ended its 2025 season playing one of college football's all-time great programs falling at Alabama, 56-0, on Saturday afternoon at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Alabama used the run game to its advantage in the opening half taking a 28-0 lead at the half behind four first half touchdowns.

The Crimson Tide took advantage of good field position for its opening two scores converting an interception on the opening drive into a Jam Miller 1-yard run.  A big punt return set up the second Alabama score by Daniel Hill from seven yards out.

Kaleb Lyons gave EIU some life with an interception setting up EIU 20 deep in Alabama territory.  The Crimson Tide defense turned away the Panthers on four downs.  Lyons interception was one of two by the Panthers in the opening half.  Dillon Conway had an interception in the endzone to end the first half.

Kevin Riley had a pair of 1-yard touchdown runs in the second quarter for Alabama's scoring.  Alabama had 121 yards on the ground in the opening half finishing the game with 269 yards on the ground and 539 yards of total offense.

EIU's offense was held to 34 yards in the game.  Three quarterback sacks played a roll in the Panthers rushing for just 14 yards in the game.  Charles Kellom had 25 yards.

Ja'Wuan Nickson, a Tuscaloosa native, finished with six tackles for EIU.  Senior Moses Alexander led EIU with 13 tackles while Tylan Foster added 11 to finish right at the 100-tackle mark for the season.

The Panthers finished the season at 3-9 overall.  Alabama (No. 10 in the FBS polls) improved to 9-2 and will play Auburn next week in the final regular season game.

Alabama stayed on the ground in the second half with four second half rushing touchdowns by AK Deer (twice), Austin Mack and Richard Young.
