Eastern Illinois guard Meechie White was named the Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week following his performance in last week's overtime conference win against SIUE.
 
White had a near perfect night in the Panthers overtime win over SIUE finishing with 21 points.  He was 6-of-6 from the floor and 4-of-4 from 3-point range.  His lone blemish was 5-of-6 from the free throw line.  White added six rebounds, two assists and two steals in the win.
 
EIU hosts East-West University this afternoon before heading into the Holiday Break. 
 
It was White's second 20-point night this season with a season-high 23 earlier this year at then No. 1 Purdue.
