Meet Results - ISU Redbird Tune-Up
Charleston, Ill – The Eastern Illinois Track and Field team competed at the ISU Redbird Tune-Up at Hortan Field House in Normal, Ill. The Panthers recorded four first-place finishes as they head into the OVC championships on Tuesday.
EIU swept the board in the men's long jump, as Isreal Jackson,
Shawn Lacy, and
Ethan McBride claimed the top three spots on the podium. Jackson was slotted in first after posting a jump of 6.51m as McBride reached a distance of 6.40m to come in second. McBride would claim the final spot after posting a jump of 6.33m.
In addition,
Landon Webb and
Carolyn Cronin each found the board in the high jump, securing the second-place spot as Webb reached a height of 1.80m and Cronin jumped 1.56m
Later in the evening, the Panthers notched a first-place finish in both the men's and women's 60m hurdles.
Israel Jackson recorded a personal best of 6.93m to claim his second first-place of the afternoon as
Anna Jones secured the other top spot for EIU, crossing the finish line in 9.39. Furthermore, Taj Malik-Akinremi followed close behind Jackson to claim second with a season-best time of 7.03
Spencer Wilson also picked up a second-place finish in the 400m after earning a personal best time of 51.84. Theodore Paxton wrapped up the night for the Panthers running a season-best 2:05.55 in the 800m race.

The Panthers will head to Indianapolis, Indiana on Feb. 25-26 to participate in the OVC Indoor Championships at the Indiana Farm Bureau Creek Pavilion.Â
