Western Kentucky handed Eastern Illinois a 7-0 defeat on Friday afternoon as EIU played the second of three matches scheduled for the week.  The Panthers wrap up the week on Sunday at Illinois State.
 
WKU opened taking the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles with the Hilltoppers adding a default win at No. 3 doubles.  WKU's top doubles team beat Aleyla Wooten and Michelle Kostadinova 6-3 at the No. 1 doubles spot.  At the No. 2 spot, the Panthers played only their fourth different pairs combination this spring with Charleigh Fay playing with Luisa Renovales Salazar.
 
In singles play WKU took five singles matches on the court with the final point at No. 6 singles secured by a default win.
 
Wooten pushed her match at No. 1 singles against Rachel Hermanova to a tie-break in the second set before eventually falling 6-0, 7-6 (7-5).
 
Playing at No. 4 singles Kostadinova would lose her match by a score of 6-3, 6-3 to Sunskrithi Damera.
