Pieke Bouman clinched a three-set win at No. 1 singles on Wednesday afternoon as Eastern Illinois picked up a dramatic 4-3 win over Saint Louis in a match played in Terre Haute, Ind.

Bouman beat Declan Townsend by a score of 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 to hand the Panthers their second win of the 2025 and first victory over SLU since 2021.

Bouman capped a match that saw the Panthers claim wins in the doubles points along with the No. 3 and No. 6 singles contests.

EIU won the overall doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, the third match was left unfinished after EIU clinched the point.Â

Ludolph Wiggett won 6-2 playing at No. 1 doubles.Â
Pieke Bouman and
Michael Schut won 6-4 at the No. 3 doubles spot in the order.

Duarte Trocado beat Sebastian Munoz in two sets at No. 6 singles to give the Panthers a 2-0 lead in the match. Trocado won 6-2, 6-3.

Aldaz pushed the Panthers margin to 3-0 in the match beating Luca Lo Nardo at No. 3 singles. Aldaz won 6-4, 6-3 for his team leading fourth singles win this spring.

SLU won the next three singles points setting the stage for Bouman's match clinching win at No. 1 singles.
