Chris Wilkerson has announced the addition of two new members of the EIU coaching staff in addition to a shift in duties for two current members.

Spencer Treadwell has been hired as EIU's running backs coach & recruiting coordinator while Rodman Noel has been hired as the Panthers linebackers coach

On its current staff, EIU has promoted
Andrew Strobel to the role of defensive coordinator while
Andrew Brady will move to coach safeties and remain the Special Teams Coordinator.Â
Matt Lindsey will move to become the Defensive Quality Control Coach.

Treadwell brings ten years of college experience with him to the running backs room working the past three years at Defiance College where he was the assistant head coach, offensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator and quarterbacks coach. He worked at the FCS level in 2021 as the tight ends coach at Arkansas Pine Bluff. A former running back at Miami (Ohio), Treadwell began his coaching career at Kent State as an offensive GA in 2015. He later worked one season at Alma College and three years at Walsh University. He earned a bachelor's degree from Miami University and a master's degree from Kent State.

Noel comes to Eastern Illinois after working last season as a special teams analyst at West Georgia. A former linebacker at North Carolina State, Noel worked with
Andrew Strobel at Morehead State coaching linebackers in 2023. He coached at the high school level in Miami (Fla.) in 2020 and was a graduate assistant at Southwest Baptist in 2021 and 2022. He holds a bachelor's degree from NC State and master's degree from Southwest Baptist. At NC State, Noel led the team in tackles as a senior and helped the team win two bowl games. He played professionally with the Cleveland Browns before beginning his coaching career.

Strobel enters his second season on the EIU coaching staff after serving as the safeties coach last season. Prior to joining EIU's staff Strobel worked six seasons at Morehead State including the final three as associate head coach and defensive coordinator.

Brady enters his fourth season on the staff having coached outside linebackers last season at EIU in addition to serving as the Special Teams Coordinator. He moves to safeties coach while keeping his special teams role.

Lindsey is in his second season with EIU having served as the Director of Player Personnel last season.  EIU also recently added DJ Jelin (Offensive QC) and Kevin Moynihan (Special Teams QC) to the staff.
