Eastern Illinois women's tennis opened Ohio Valley Conference play with a 4-2 road win on Saturday afternoon at Tennessee State.
After falling behind in the match due to losing the overall doubles point, EIU won four of the five completed singles matches to clinch the win and pick up their third victory of the year.
EIU picked up singles wins at the No. 1, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 positions in the playing order with
Emma Pilipovic-Kljajic match at No. 6 singles left unfinished following the Panthers clinching the overall match win.
Aleyla Wooten won at No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Aroa Arrieta Castillo.
Charleigh Fay won at No. 3 singles with a two set win over Jovana Nikolic winning 6-1, 6-2.
Michelle Kostadinova posted a 6-2, 6-3 win over Sydney Brantley at No. 4 singles.
Luisa Renovales Salazar matched Kostadinova's match scores in her No. 5 singles win over Victoria Cooksey winning 6-2, 6-3.
TSU won the doubles point to open the match with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles with the No. 2 doubles match going to a tie-break before the Lady Tigers clinched the point.

Charleigh Fay played at No. 1 doubles for the Panthers posting a 6-3 win. It was the second straight match Wooten and Fay have been teamed up for doubles and their second straight win.Â
