Eastern Illinois women's tennis won its second straight match as the Panthers picked up a 4-2 win over McKendree on Sunday.
EIU opened the match winning the doubles point with wins at No.1 and No. 2 doubles.Â
Luisa Renovales Salazar and
Michelle Kostadinova won 6-2 at the No. 2 doubles with
Aleyla Wooten and
Charleigh Fay clinching the overall point with a 6-3 No. 1 doubles victory.
In singles play EIU moved its lead to 2-0 with Wooten's win at No. 1 singles with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Lena Greefs.
McKendree won the next two points with three-set wins at both No. 2 and No. 3 singles.
Kostadinova moved the Panthers back in front with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Joelle Tabernal at No. 4 singles.
Renovales Salazar clinched the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Ivana Milkova at No. 5 singles.
The final match was left unfinished with
Emma Pilipovic-Kljajic winning the opening set 7-6 (8-6) at No. 6 singles.Â
