CHARLESTON, Ill – Eastern Illinois Director of Track and Field James Gildon has announced the Panthers 2025 outdoor season schedule. EIU comes off of a strong 2024-25 indoor season where the men's team finished third and the women's team finished fifth at the Ohio Valley Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 25-26.
The Panthers will begin their season just a few hours down the road, as they are set to travel to St. Louis, Mo. to compete in the WashU Distance Carnival at Francis Olympic Field on March 27-28. This marks EIU's second trip to St. Louis in the past two years after partaking in the St. Louis Billiken Invitational a year ago.
Eastern will then drive back across the state, heading to Terre Haute, Ind. for the first of three meets held at Indiana State this spring. The Panthers will partake in Pacesetter Invitational on March 29, the Gibson Invitational on April 17, and the Sycamore Open on May 9, all held at Gibson Track & Field Complex.
The Panthers will then host the Big Blue Classic at O'brien Stadium on April 4, as this is the only home meet for EIU during the course of the 2025 season. The following week, Eastern will stay domestic, as they head north to in-state rival Illinois State to compete in the Normal Invite on April 11.
The end of April is packed for the Panthers, traveling to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Relays on April 23-26 before heading to Louisville, Ky. for the Clark Wood Invitational on April 25-26. Shortly after, the Panthers are set to travel to Champaign, Ill. for the Fighting Illini Tune Up on Friday, May 2.
