Terre Haute, Ind. – The Eastern Illinois Track and Field team concluded the Gibson Invitational on Saturday evening at Gibson Track and Field Complex in Terre Haute, Ind. EIU finished with a number of Panther athletes at the top of their respective events.

Sam Bradbury kicked off the weekend for the Panthers, securing a first-place finish in the discus on Friday after recording a toss of 50.51m. Bradbury's toss also marks his personal record in the event. In addition, Bradbury notched a third-place finish in the shot put on Saturday after posting a throw of 15.98m. Isabella Fabrizio continued the momentum for the field athletes, recording a distance of 13.33m in the shot put to claim fifth place out of 30 throwers.

Additionally, Friday's distance runners were headlined by graduate Mackenzie Aldridge, posting a time of 17:34.31 in the 5000m run to secure the second spot on the podium.

The Panther men's 4x100m relay team manufactured a season-best time on Saturday as Israel Jackson, Daniel Lacy, Jahleel Perrin, and Shawn Lacy combined for a time of 40.98 to earn a third-place finish in the event.

Abby Venhaus and Abraham Johnson wrapped up the weekend for EIU, and both found success in the sand pit. Venhaus's jump of 5.48m earned her fifth place out of 38 jumpers. Meanwhile, Johnson continued to add to his freshman campaign, recording a jump of 14.87m in the triple jump to secure the second spot on the podium.
