Eastern Illinois women's tennis played the second of three Ohio Valley Conference matches this week falling on the road on Saturday at Western Illinois.

The loss dropped EIU to 2-2 in the OVC with a Sunday match against Southeast Missouri before the final OVC match next weekend against SIUE.

WIU won the doubles point winning 6-0 at No. 1 doubles to clinch the point as EIU did not field at No. 3 doubles team. The No. 2 doubles match with
Michelle Kostadinova and
Luisa Renovales Salazar was left unfinished with EIU's pair leading 4-1.

In singles play the Leathernecks picked up a point at No. 6 singles by default to move out to a 2-0 lead in the match.

EIU locked up its two singles points with wins at No. 2 singles and No. 4 singles.

Kostadinova won in two sets at No. 4 singles with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Lara Diniz de Souza.

Ornella Lomenzo won her second straight singles match with a three-set victory over Chloe Routier. Lomenzo won 6-1, 5-7, 10-7.
