Panthers add a pair of junior college transfers to roster

Eastern Illinois women's basketball coach Marqus McGlothan has completed the Panthers roster for the upcoming season with the addition of two junior college players.

Nyah Hardy and Sydney Richards have both joined the Panthers program joining high school signee Liana Buckhalton along with four-year transfers Ava Stoller (SIUE), Clara Glad (UC Davis), Meioshe Mason (Middle Tennessee) and Abbie Boutilier (Texas).

Hardy (Houston, Texas) is a 5'6" guard that played last season at Arizona Western College.Ā  She was part of a team that posted a 26-5 record advancing to the second round of the NJCAA Division I National Tournament.Ā  Hardy averaged 12.0 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game with 19 double figure scoring games during the year.Ā  She shot 45.8 percent from the floor while connecting for 39.1 percent from 3-point range with 63 made 3-pointers. Ā Hardy led the ACCAC in 3-point field goal percentage while ranking third in the league in 3-pointers made. Ā She played high school basketball at Pearland High School finishing her prep career with more than 1,000 points. She earned first team All-District as a senior and All-Academic honors.Ā  She led her team to the UIL Girls BB 6A Reg 3&4 semifinals as a senior.

Richards (Sigel, Illinois) is a 6'0" forward that played the last two years at Lake Land College in Mattoon.Ā  As a sophomore she averaged 13.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 52.5 percent from the floor.Ā  She had 25 double figure scoring games and 15 double figure rebounding contests earning All-Region XXIV and All-Conference honors.Ā  She led the team to 28 wins as they placed sixth at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament.Ā Ā  As a freshman she helped lead the team to 25 wins and an eighth place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament.Ā  She averaged 11.8 points and 8.4 rebounds per game while shooting 52.1 percent from the floor.Ā  Richards had 21 double figure scoring and 14 double figure rebounding games as a freshman.Ā  She played high school basketball at Neoga High School earning second team All-State honors as a senior scoring more than 1,000 points for her career.Ā  She was the National Trail Conference MVP as a senior adding All-Area honors.Ā
