Eastern Illinois women's basketball claimed two of the league's top individual awards as the Ohio Valley Conference released its season awards in early March.

Macy McGlone was named the OVC Player of the Year for the second straight year while Kiyley Flowers was named the OVC Defensive Player of the Year.

McGlone, who also earned first team All-OVC honors, won the award for a second straight year.  McGlone ended the regular season ranked fifth in the NCAA in rebounds with 335 and seventh in the NCAA in double-doubles with 17.  She added a pair of double-doubles in the final week of the regular season averaging 20.5 points and 20 rebounds per game to pick up her sixth OVC Player of the Week honor.  McGlone averaged 17.7 points, 11.6 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game while shooting 49.1 percent from the field and ranking either first or second in the OVC in all four categories for the regular season.  She moved into ninth on EIU's career scoring list and already ranks third in both career blocks and career rebounds.

Flowers earned the Defensive Player of the Year after leading the OVC in steals per game each of the last three years with the last two seasons at Southeast Missouri.  She was 17th in the NCAA in steals per game with 2.8 per contest (73 total) for the regular season.  She tied for tenth on the EIU single season steals list and was just shy of 300 for her career.  Earlier in the season Flowers had a streak of 56 consecutive games with at least one steal come to an end..  In addition to her defensive play, Flowers was second in the OVC in assists per game and fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio.
