Eastern Illinois goalkeeper Franco Barba turned away six Purdue Fort Wayne shots but it was an early goal by the Mastodons that was able to stand up giving Purdue Fort Wayne the 1-0 win on Friday afternoon.
 
Shane Anderson scored unassisted off a free kick in the 12th minute for the only tally of the match.   
 
Purdue Fort Wayne mounted much of its offense in the opening half with ten of its 15 shots.  Eastern Illinois was on the attack much of the second half with eight of its nine shots in the final 45 minutes.
 
EIU finished the match with three shots on goal, two coming off the foot of Casey Welage.  Fabricio Roberti was credited with the final shot on goal for the Panthers.
 
EIU falls to 0-3 on the season while Purdue Fort Wayne is now 1-0-2.
