Meet Results    

 
 Eastern Illinois men's and women's cross country went on the road to Peoria, Ill on Friday October 16 to compete at the Bradley Pink Classic.  

The Bradley Pink Classic welcomed a very competitive field featuring teams from across the country, including Bradley, Illinois State, Grand Valley State, Iowa, Cincinnati, UIC, Iowa Western Community College, Salt Lake, Drake, Wisconsin Green Bay, St. Thomas, Northern Iowa, Southeast Missouri, Oakland, Western Illinois, Xavier and several other collegiate programs. 

The EIU men placed 23rd in the field while the women finished 22nd.  

Cale Smith led the Panther men finishing 122nd in the field as the race was run at the 8,000-meter distance.  Smith crossed at 25:13.3. Miteku Branch was next crossing in 138th place with a time of 25: 27.1.  


Jiberil Lesman, Phillip Canopy, and Eli Crowe rounded out the top five EIU runners in the meet.  Lesman was 142nd with a time of 25:30.4. Canopy was 165th with a time of 25:50.8. Crowe crossed at 26:13.5 placing 181st.  The men's race consisted of a total of 210 runners. 

Sophie Krueger led the EIU women to a 133rd place finish which was among the 26 schools in the meet and 224 total women's runners. Krueger placed 133rd in the 6,000-meter race with a time of 22:31.5.  

Macie Russell and Chloe Proffitt crossed in 145th and 154th place with Russell posting a time of 22:41.3 and Proffitt in at 22:48.9.  
 

Alessandra Gregory and Aly Douglass were the final two EIU scored runners in the top five.  Gregory was 159th with a time of 22:53.4 while Douglass finished 160th with a time of 22:53.4.  

 
EIU returns to action at the OVC Conference Championships on Friday, October 30th that will take place in Cape Giradeau, Missouri.
