After a dominant first start of the season, Bryce Riggs was rewarded for his impressive performance against Florida A&M. Riggs received the OVC Pitcher of the Week award, the Ohio Valley Conference announced today.
Riggs made his first start of the season on February 14th in the final game of the weekend series against Florida A&M. Riggs threw a complete game, pitching all seven innings. This is the second time in his career he has thrown a complete game. In those seven innings, Riggs threw 84 pitches, faced 23 batters, struck out six, and allowed just one hit. Furthermore, Riggs only walked one batter and forced 11 flyouts and three groundouts.
Bryce Riggs and the Panthers will be back in action on Wednesday, February 18th, against Butler University.
