GAME 28
Eastern Illinois picked up a big win in the Ohio Valley Conference race for the second straight Saturday afternoon as the Panthers beat Little Rock at Groniger Arena to move into a tie for seventh with the Trojans in the league standings with four regular season games remaining.  EIU enters its final week of home games this week with an 11-16 overall record, 7-9 in the OVC.  EIU hosts Morehead State on Thursday and then welcomes Southern Indiana on Saturday for EIU's Senior Day game.  Thursday's opponent, Morehead State, enters in a three-way tie for second place in the OVC race at 15-12 overall, 11-5 in the OVC. 

FISHER JUST MISSES A DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Nazareth Fisher averaged a double-double for the year (11.3 ppg & 11.0 rpg) last season at NCAA Division II Point Park with 20 total career double-doubles at the collegiate level.  On Saturday against Little Rock the transfer post player just missed his first EIU double-double finishing with a season high ten points and nine rebounds.  Fisher hit the 800 career rebound mark for his college career in December against Lindenwood and enters the final two weeks with 889 college rebounds and 819 college points.  

MEECHIE GOES ON OFFENSE
Guard Meechie White has had his defense be part of the focus of his play this season with his 56 steals currently ranking the junior third in the OVC at 2.1 steals per game.  On Saturday it was his 19 point effort including 6-of-6 at the free throw line in the last minute that helped carry EIU to a win.  It was White's fifth double figure scoring game in the last six contests and 12 double figure game this season.  On defense White needs one steal to join the EIU single season top ten.  

CONTROLLING THE OFFENSIVE GLASS
Eastern Illinois doubled its season average for offensive rebounds in Saturday's win as the Panthers pulled down 20 offensive rebounds as part of a 43-34 rebounding edge over Little Rock.  On the season EIU averages just 9.9 offensive rebounds per game which ranks 10th in the OVC.  EIU's previous season high for offensive rebounds was 19 at Morehead State.  EIU has 11 double figure offensive rebounding games this season.   The last 20-plus offensive rebounding game was Dec. 2, 2023 with 21 against St. Louis Pharmacy.
