Eastern Illinois men's basketball honored its four seniors prior to Saturday's game at Groniger Arena.

Southern Indiana stole the ball with less than eight seconds left at half court and Ismail Habib made a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift USI to the win over EIU, 70-68.

EIU had rallied from being down 22 points early in the second half to take the lead with 47 seconds remaining on a
Zion Fruster lay-up. Fruster had 28 points as one of four seniors honored in the game.

Terry McMorris put the Panthers up two with free throws with 24 seconds remaining and EIU leading 68-66. Habib drew a foul on the next USI possession but hit only one of two free throws.

EIU was able to inbound the ball with the lead, but USI forced a turnover near midcourt that led to the Habib winner.

USI led 36-20 at the half and extended the lead to 42-20 with 19:02 to play in the second half on free throws by Ola Ajiboye.Â

Fruster snapped an eight minute Panthers scoreless stretch with his jumper with 18:25 to play in the game.

Meehcie White and
Kooper Jacobi both joined Fruster in double figures. White had 17 points and six assists. Jacobi had 11 points and nine rebounds.

EIU fell to 11-18 overall, 7-11 in the OVC. The Panthers four seniors honored included Fruster, Jacobi,
Nazareth Fisher (7 reb) and
Andre Washington who did not dress due to injury.

Amaree Brown led USI with 22 points as they improved to 7-21 overall, 4-14 in the OVC.
