Tennessee Tech used a 8-0 run in overtime as the Golden Eagles held off a gallant effort by Eastern Illinois that saw the Panthers play with just seven healthy players ending the game with five after two players fouled out in overtime.
TTU rallied for a 75-70 overtime win over EIU dropping the Panthers to 4-21 overall, 3-11 in the OVC.

Tennessee Tech scored the remaining points in the game with LaReesha Cawthorn scoring to even the game at 70-70 and then Cawthorn made a free throw to give TTU the lead for good. Cawthorn finished with 27 points and 27 rebounds.Â
Reagan Hurst opened the scoring with a 3-pointer for Tennessee Tech.Â
Tiny Lewis answered with a 3-pointer for EIU to tie the game at 3-3 with 7:40 to play in the first quarter.
TTU followed with a 6-0 run allowing the Golden Eagles to play in front a majority of the first half. Lewis gave EIU a 27-26 lead with a 3-pointer with 2:35 to play in the second quarter, part of a 12 point first half for Lewis. The senior ended the game with 17 points.
Lewis 3-pointer was part of an 11-2 EIU run to close the first half as EIU led 35-28. Chloe Larry hit a pair of free throws to briefly put TTU back in the lead before an 8-0 run by EIU.Â
Kennedy Davis scored five points in the run including her second career 3-pointer. Davis ended the game with seven points and ten rebounds. Â
Eastern Illinois added another big run midway through the third quarter with Lune scoring eight points as part of a 12-0 EIU run that gave the Panthers a 59-45 lead heading into the fourth quarter.Â
Tennessee Tech was able to battle back from the 14 point deficit in the fourth quarter taking the lead with 1:01 to play on a Cawthorn jumper.Â
Nyah Hardy answered for EIU with a 3-pointer to put EIU back up two at 67-65. Cawthorn tied the game at 67-67 with 18.1 seconds left and EIU could not hit its final shot of regulation forcing the OT.
Reghan Grimes had 13 points and ten rebounds for Tennessee Tech as the Golden Eagles improved to 13-10 overall, 6-8 in the OVC.
Lune had 16 points and eight rebounds while Hardy scored 14 off the bench for EIU.
