Bryce Riggs continues to dominate on the mound for Eastern Illinois as he was awarded his second OVC Pitcher of the Week award. Riggs went 1-0 this past week with a stellar performance against USI to ensure the weekend series victory.
In the Saturday victory, Riggs tossed nine complete innings, allowing only one run on one hit. He collected six strikeouts and held opponents to a .036 batting average.
For the season, Riggs holds a 1.85 ERA in 58.1 innings of work and has held opponents to a .127 batting average. He has totaled 57 strikeouts, which are more strikeouts than in his previous two seasons.
Riggs ranks second in the NCAA in complete games with two total. He also ranks second in the nation in WHIP at 0.72.
In the OVC, Riggs leads the conference in multiple categories. He is first in ERA at 1.85, opposing batting average at .127, and strikeouts at 57. Riggs has also allowed the least amount of hits at 25 total.
