Eastern Illinois women's basketball head coach
Marqus McGlothan has added another physical guard to the Panthers roster for next season with the signing of transfer Lana Koricanac.
Â
Koricanac (5'11") is a native of Belgrade, Serbia and played this past season at Troy University.  She was a member of a Trojans team that won 25 games before losing the Sun Belt Conference Championship and falling to Kansas in the WBIT.
Â
She appeared in 27 games off the bench during the season averaging 2.4 points and 1.4 rebounds per game. Koricanac had a breakout game of 19 points, seven rebounds in a win over Oakwood College. She posted an eight point, seven rebound game against Georgia State.Â
Â
"Lana will be another long, physical guard that will help us compete against teams in our conference and on the non-conference schedule," said McGlothan. "She brings both international and collegiate post-season experience with her to our roster and has been around winning programs during her playing career. I look forward to watching her compete and developing her game to be successful within our system."
Â
Koricanac finished her prep career with two seasons at Greenforest Christian Academy in Georgia. She helped the team post a 27-5 record as a junior with the team winning the Class A Division 2 State Championship. She earned both first team All-Region and GBCA All-State honors averaging 16 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals per game.
Â
She becomes the fifth player set to join the Panthers roster for next season. Itxasne Fernandez Arguello (Otero JC), a junior college forward from Spain was announced last week during the spring signing period with Nevaeh Dickman, a forward from Loyola Chicago announced this week. They join high school products Alahnna Simpson (La Crosse, Wis. / La Crosse Central HS) and Dalia Grandberry (Arlington Heights, Ill. / Rolling Meadows HS), who both signed with the Panthers in November.
